Guardians: A Pact of a New Age Comic Pt. 2

The following is a project done for Tatum Games during my internship for the company. I constructed a two part comic to allow the characters to be more cohesive and to connect their plot development. The content is below:

Page 1

Panel 1

Starts off with a flashback of Waren’s. Have Quietess leaning on a van, arms folded. Waren is talking to her as he paces. It is night time as this is a flashback before the fight with Maximum.

Waren Marshal

I know I agreed to it, but why are you doing this? We already have hitmen and clowns chasing us. And now this – an alien who can mess with your mind? This is insane!

Quietess

I know it is.

Waren Marshal

Then, why?

Panel 2

Close up of Quietess turning her head towards Waren. We see the back of Waren’s head partially cut off by the panel.

Quietess

He reminded you of him too, didn’t he? Our youngest?

Waren Marshal

Yeah… yeah he did. But what can we do against Max?

Panel 3

Quietess touches Waren’s face as she looks at him sincerely.

Quietess

I don’t know to be honest, but can’t you feel it? I feel like the universe is trying to tell us something.

Waren Marshal

What?

Quietess

We’ve being given another chance to save a child even if we couldn’t save ours.. He is the hope people look to in times of need. We can’t just abandon him.

Panel 4

Close up shot of a firearm Waren hands to Quietess. We can see Quietess’s hand pushing it back.

Waren Marshal

(*Sighs*) Then take this. You might need it.

Quietess

No. I think that chapter in my life has closed. It’s about time I did things the right way.

Panel 5

Waren and Quietess embrace each other’s heads with their arms. Their foreheads are touching as they gaze into each other’s eyes. Quietess and Waren can be depicted smiling at each other. Aziza is smiling in the background while  poking her head out of the driver’s seat of the van, peering down at them.

Waren Marshal

Then we do this together – ‘til the end.

Quietess

Always.

Page 2

Panel 1

We’re back in present time as we can see the back of Waren’s head peering out of the windshield spectating the fight between his wife and Maximum.

Panel 2

We can see part of Waren’s face as Aziza is staring at him in the background. Protector can be seen attempting to get up behind her. Computers and other technological devices can be seen attached to the sides of the van indicating how Waren was able to hack Protector’s suit.

Panel 3

Protector can be seen leaving from the side door of the van. Aziza grabs his arm, attempting to stop him.

Aziza

Where are you going in your condition, Emeka?

Protector

I need to use my remaining power supply to get Burst and Genesis back to Slater Tech with Gordan. Mantle needs special treatment he can only get from a botanist he knows.

Panel 4

Divide the panel into three sections each with one of the following valiant heroes knocked to the ground unconscious. Heroes depicted should be Mantle, Burst, and Genesis.

Panel 5

Show Emeka gazing on into the heated fight in the background while giving a goodbye hug to Aziza. Maximum attacks Quietess in the background while she skillfully dodges.

Protector

You sure she can pull this off?

Aziza

Where’s your faith? That’s not like you. Just trust everything will work out.

Panel 6

Pan out to show Waren looking to his side mirror back at Protector. Protector is hovering in the air about to fly off.

Protector

Thank you, Mr. Marshal. I hope to see you again. I am in your debt.

Waren Marshal

If we get through this, you can call me Waren.

(*Note: Small easter egg to the future when Waren becomes Grand Guard and works closely with Protector in aiding The Guardians.)

Page 3

Panel 1

Aziza re-enters the van closing the side door behind her. Show a cot posted far back in the background of the van. Part of Waren’s face can be seen in front of the panel, still intently observing the fight.

Aziza

I meant to ask you, Waren. Is this van also you and your wife’s home? I couldn’t help but notice furniture and small appliances in here.

Waren Marshal

Focus on the mission.

Panel 2

Pan out to show Aziza placing her hand on Waren’s shoulder while both continue to peer out the windshield.

Aziza

I understand. We’ll figure this out somehow. All of us. Together.

(*Note: Small requote of what Waren said to Quietess the night before. Represents unity and the beginnings of The Guardians coming together as a team.)

Panel 3

Wind ferociously streams from Maximum’s hand while capturing a bird’s eye view of Quietess performing a backflip above his head to both dodge the attack and get behind him.

Panel 4

Quietess kicks the back of Maximum’s leg joint to bring him down to one knee.

Panel 5

She uses her grapple hook to quickly tie around him. Note that the material is made out of small titanium alloy dipped fibers interwoven together to allow for a stronger pull.

Quietess

Listen to me, Max! It’s Quietess. What your seeing isn’t real. Nervo is inside your head!

Page 4

Panel 1

Maximum punches the ground while tied up which causes a huge crater to be formed. The blowback from the force sends Quietess flying backward.

Maximum

Liar!

Panel 2

Maximum breaks out of his confinement. The fibers from the grapple hook can be shown around him ripped to shreds.

Panel 3

Widened eyes of disbelief can be seen through Quietess’s goggles while she is still flying back from the force.

Panel 4

Quietess is panting heavily barely able to stand. Maximum stands in the small crater talking to Quietess he thinks is Nervo. Falling debris and shattered glass from surrounding buildings affected by the force of the impact can be seen, dropping down.

Maximum

Why would Quietess be here? I’m sick of your games, Nervo! You really think something like this would hold me from bringing you down?

Panel 5

Close up shot of Quietess sluggishly pointing at Maximum’s feet.

Quietess

In all honesty, I was hoping so, but I figured I should have a plan B anyway.

Panel 6

Bird’s eye view of small blinking explosive below Maximum. Part of Maximum’s head can be shown peering down at it in the small crater.

Panel 7

Panel is portrayed in all white from the blast.

Page 5

Panel 1

Show Maximum at the last second trying to shield himself from the blast with his cape.

Panel 2

Quietess watches as Maximum is now blown black from the impact, descending from the air.

Panel 3

Detailed depiction of Maximum almost effortlessly getting up from the blast. Parts of his attire is singed. His cape is tattered. Small wounds on his skin are closing up. He stares back at Quietess with more determination than ever.

(*Note: This depiction is a reference to the Maximum short story.)

Panel 4

We can see Quietess’s eyes through her goggles as she hopelessly stares back at him in awe although Maximum can’t be seen in the panel.

Quietess

I thought that would at least knock him out. The will of this boy is unbelievable.

Panel 5

Depict the scene as if we are looking through Maximum’s eyes as he stares at an image of Nervo who is actually Quietess standing before him. The reader can see an inside thought bubble of Quietess in the panel as we see the current world through Maximum’s point of view. Destroyed buildings surround the image of Nervo representing that he only brings about destruction.

Quietess (Inside thought)

What drives you to push yourself so far, I wonder?

Page 6

Panel 1

Show Maximum entering the door of his home late at night as we bring the reader to a flashback he is having. His dad is on the couch with red, bloodshot eyes waiting for his son’s return. Maximum is in civilian attire entering his residence.

Panel 2

Dad turns back on the couch, startled. Maximum is gloomy, looking down as he shuts the door behind him.

Dad

Are you okay? Your mother and I were worried sick. I told her to get some rest upstairs.

Maximum

Yeah. I’m okay, dad. The world isn’t.

Dad

What do you mean? Come. Sit down.

Panel 3

Dad is gripping his son’s shoulder on the couch as he speaks.

Maximum

I met this woman who does the wrong things for the right reasons because the world failed her; turned its back on her.

Dad

Is she doing okay, now?

Maximum

No. I-I wanted to help, but she hated me for even trying. I wanted to feel she was completely wrong in the way she did things, but I couldn’t. I felt sympathy for her.

(*Note: This is a reference to his encounter with Quietess in part 1 of this comic.)

Panel 4

Close up on dad. His fingers are intertwined as he rests his head on them. Part of Maximum’s body can be seen.

Dad

I knew this would happen. Your mother and I didn’t think you were ready to face the injustices of this world because the lines between good and bad are often blurred. It’s our fault for even tampering with your genes and making you feel like you have to carry this burden.

Maximum

I will never blame you or mom for giving me this gift because I’m going to be that line.

Panel 5

Dad looks up at his son, surprised with his comment.

Dad

What did you say?

Maximum

It’s because good and bad can be blurred, it’s so important to have that line. Without it, everybody would be crazy. So I’ll be that line people need.

(*Note: Important panel as this thought defines the very definition of Maximum’s character.)

Panel 6

Dad looks at his son with misty eyes full of adoration and hope.

Dad

The simple wisdom a child can have never ceases to amaze me. I’m so proud of you, my boy.

Panel 7

Zoom out to show Maximum’s mom coming downstairs.

Panel 8

Close up of mom pulling her son in close, talking gently into his ear.

Mom

I’ve heard everything, and I couldn’t be more proud of you either. Just remember, it’s okay. You don’t have to carry this world alone. We’re here for you.

Page 7

Panel 1

Back in present time. Pan out to show the sorrowful faces of the people hiding behind whatever debris they can as they watch their beloved hero rampage through their town.

Panel 2

Image of Maximum charging toward an image of Nervo who is really Quietess in righteous fury.

Maximum

I do this for everyone! I am the line people like you can’t cross!

Panel 3

Quietess looks on in agony, knees bent preparing to dodge. Maximum is talking but not in the panel.

Maximum

I’m taking this to the max!

Panel 4

Close up shot of Maximum’s fist as it just misses connection with Quietess’s face. She dodges just in time but is still caught by the overwhelming pressure of wind created by the force of his punch.

Maximum

FULL FORCE!

Panel 5

Wide shot of the force and overwhelming wind speed creating its own current like a mini tornado from his fist.

Panel 6

Quietess’s body is caught in the draft, forcing her to fly backward.

Panel 7

Quietess hits the side of a building hard.

Page 8

Panel 1

Close up shot of Waren’s widened eyes as he witnessed his wife’s body from the van shoot from one direction to the other.

Waren Marshal

SOPHITAAA!!!

Panel 2

Aziza can be seen behind Waren cupping her mouth in horror.

Panel 3

Pan out to show people brave enough to spectate the scene in the area have their mouths cupped in horror as well.

Panel 4

Quietess’s body lies motionless on the side of the building sitting in the upright position. The right goggle lense is gone. Her hair is covering the right side of her face.

Panel 5

Close up shot of Maximum grinning in victory. An exposed electrical wire cable can be seen sparking in the background from a knocked down street light. (A significant detail later.)

Maximum

I finally got you, Nervo!

Page 9

Panel 1

Show Waren dash towards a weapon on the interior wall of the van, leaving his headset communicator on the dash of the van. Aziza watches him in anguish as tears stream from her eyes.

Aziza

I’m so sorry, Waren! I didn’t mean to get you both involved in this. I just acted on my vision.

Waren

Don’t be sorry. It was our decision to come.

Aziza

Not even four powerful people could take him down. I don’t know what we’re going to do! We’re practically powerless against him.

Panel 2

Waren looks back at Aziza with determination as he opens the side door to go out.

Waren Marshal

You came to us with certainty. Where did that faith go? Not a single person is powerless. We all have abilities. It’s just a matter of knowing how to use them.

Panel 3

Show Waren rushing towards Aziza while holding Maximum back, firing shots from his weapon. Maximum is dodging the shots with ease.

Panel 4

Show Aziza in the van press her hand against the windshield. She is trying to use the ability she has that allows her to stop time.

Aziza

Stop. Stop. Stop. Ugh! It’s not working. I don’t have the peace of mind to focus.

(*Note: Reference to Sabina “Aziza” comic.)

Panel 5

Quietess is conscious again staring at Waren continuously firing shots to keep Maximum occupied. She can see Aziza in the background desperately pressing her hand to the glass trying to help somehow. Quietess’s right hand is in her pocket.

Panel 6

Focus in on a picture Quietess is holding in her palm of her three children that have passed away, smiling back at her.

Page 10

Panel 1

A flashback is being depicted of Quietess walking in her old home opening the door to a tragic scene. Darkness should be behind the door as it signifies a dark time etched in her memory. She is wearing regular civilian clothes without a disguise.

Panel 2

Illuminate the panel with a red spotlight shining down on the tragic scene of Waren holding their youngest son in his hands while the other two children are motionless beside him on either side. The color red represents the pain both her and Waren felt that day – an experience that changed their lives forever.

Panel 3

Back to present time. Focus in on Waren still firing as many shots as he can while Maximum is getting dangerously closer.

Waren Marshal

I know you’re thinking about them all the time. I do too. I see their faces every morning! We lost them. Somehow… we have to live with that. But I can’t live without you. You’re all I got left! So please, you have to stand up. Please stand up! Stand!

Panel 4

Show Quietess begin to stand up, using her right hand to brace herself up from the building. We cannot see her face as she is slightly hunched over, hair hanging down.

Panel 5

Pan out to show the amazed expressions of people peeking out from the objects they’re hiding behind. A news camera can be seen amongst the people recording.

Panel 6

Close shot of Quietess holding her left arm in pain and miraculously standing after such a catastrophic blow. Her hair blows in the wind as we see the other lense of the goggle fall from her face. Only her ninja-like mask is covering the bottom half of her face. Her eyes are clearly visible.

Quietess

Affirmative. I hear you, Waren.

Page 11

Panel 1

Show Aziza look down as the headset on the dash of the van has sound coming out of it.

Quietess

Aziza. Can you hear me? I may have a plan, but it’s gonna take all of us.

Panel 2

Aziza is placing the headset over her head with a look of relief and wiping her tears.

Aziza

I can hear you. I’m so glad you’re alive.

Quietess

Don’t celebrate yet. I need you to confirm something for me. When you practiced controlling your visions, you always tried to look far ahead in the future, correct?

Aziza

Yes, but why?

Panel 3

Quietess has her fingers pressed on the side of her ear, allowing her to speak through her communicator. She is walking up beside Waren.

Quietess

Your powers are an extension of you, like a muscle. I believe you couldn’t see that far yet because you simply weren’t ready. However, if you focus on just a few seconds –

Aziza

I may be able to take a small peek into the future that way. I never thought of it like that. But if this works, what can you do with just a few seconds of a future event.

Quietess

You’ll see. It’s not conventional, but it may work.

Panel 4

Quietess is taking a fighting stance as she is standing by her husband, Waren who has ran out of ammo to fire at Maximum. Maximum can be seen taking a running position.

Quietess

I know you’ve been observing the fight this whole time. What weakness have you come up with?

Waren Marshal

I’ve got a theory, but you’ve gotta get close. Maximum is strong, but he’s still human. We can short out the neurons in his brain which are responsible for transmitting electrical signals to cells in his body.

Panel 5

Pan out to the exposed electrical wiring on the pavement from the falling street light. Although Quietess and Waren are talking, they are not seen in the panel.

Quietess

I see. We paralyze him and if we’re lucky, maybe even reboot his brain activity; free him of Nervo’s influence. I see just the thing too. You sure it won’t cause any type of brain damage?

Waren Marshal

No, I’m not. His rapid healing may be able to prevent such a thing, but who knows? I’m not seeing any other options at the moment though.

Panel 6

Show Quietess looking back at Aziza who is in the van still wearing the headset. Waren has eyes locked on Maximum although Maximum is not in the panel.

Quietess

Okay, Aziza. I need you to focus your ability on Maximum. By repeatedly looking into the future by a few seconds, call out what move he is about to do, so I can dodge it. From there, I can direct him to that area where the sparking cable is.

Aziza

Yes ma’am! I got you two into this mess, and I’ll do everything in my power to get you out of it. I will not waiver!

Panel 7

Divide panel into three sections with one each depicting Quietess, Aziza, and Waren with determined looks in their respective frames. Quietess is in the middle.

Quietess

This is our last shot! Make it count!

Page 12

Panel 1

Show Waren ducking behind a massive chunk of debris that fell from a building. The empty weapon is strapped around his neck.

Panel 2

Show Maximum charge forward.

Maximum

It looks like you still have fight in you. I can keep going too!

Panel 3

Close up shot of Aziza concentrating while she is speaking into the headset.

Aziza

Dodge his right arm. He’s using full force again!

Panel 4

Quietess leaps as high as she can in the air performing a front flip. Massive wind pressure can be seen below her.

Quietess

Roger that!

Panel 5

Close up shot of Aziza again.

Aziza

He’ll attack behind you. Break left!

Panel 6

Show Quietess on the right side of the panel running towards the reader, dodging Maximum’s blow by dodging right as the reader’s right facing her is her left. We see Maximum’s punch behind her. The surrounding background of the panel should look like the inside eye of a mini storm with his fist as the eye.

Panel 7

We can see Waren peer out from behind the debris as he threw something. We see the back of his figure. In the background, Maximum is running after Quietess only to be stopped by some sort of smoke.

Panel 8

Close up of Maximum confused by the screen of smoke surrounding him.

Maximum

You think smoke will stop me?

Panel 9

Close up of Waren peering over the debris.

Waren Marshal

Not just smoke, kid – sleeping gas. May not knock someone like you out, but it will make you stagger just long enough for an opening.

Page 13

Panel 1

Intense and detailed depiction of Quietess lurking in the smoke behind Maximum holding the exposed, sparking cable. Determination is seething from her eyes. The mask still on the lower part of her face covering her mouth and nose shields her from inhaling it.

Panel 2

Show Quietess place the cable just behind Maximum’s neck. Maximum is stunned, shouting out in pain.

Maximum

AAAHHHHH!!!

Panel 3

Aziza’s eyes widen in a panic as she speaks through the headset.

Aziza

His right hand is about to shove you!

Panel 4

Quietess gets whacked by Maximum’s arm sending her flying again. She tries to shield herself with her arms.

Quietess

Crap. Too late to dodge!

Panel 5

Quietess gets knocked back in front of the debris where Waren is. Waren is coming from behind the debris to check if she’s okay.

Panel 6

Quietess is in the upright position, pointing. She is not able to move. Waren is placing his hand on top of her head, comforting her.

Waren Marshal

Dang it! Are you all right?

Quietess

Yeah. It’s okay. It looks like our plan is doing its job.

Page 14

Panel 1

Maximum is holding his head and yelling out in pain.

Maximum

Ahhh! What is going on?!

Panel 2

The reader can see the current world through Maximum’s eyes again. Depict the previous image of Nervo with destroyed buildings around him begin to fade.

Panel 3

Close up shot of Maximum’s widened eyes in horror.

Panel 4

Pan out to show the distress on people’s faces as they slowly come out of hiding. Police officers and news reporters can be seen among the crowd hesitant to approach the scene. Smoke and debris from damaged buildings can be seen as well.

Panel 5

Maximum now stares at Quietess with Waren still beside her. Quietess is looking back at him in sympathy. A news camera is recording in the background.

Maximum

Quietess? I don’t understand. Did I do this? Did I cross the line?

Quietess

No, you didn’t do anything. It was Nervo and him alone.

Page 15

Panel 1

Show a menacing image of Nervo still lingering in Maximum’s head, trying to control him again.

Nervo

She’s wrong, Max. I’m right in front of you. Can’t you see? Let’s end this!

Panel 2

Show Maximum clutching his head in agony as he drops to his knees, devastated.

Maximum

I don’t know what’s real anymore! What’s happening? Just get out of my head!

Panel 3

Close up of Quietess as she speaks to Maximum, trying to get him to calm down.

Quietess

It’s okay. All of us are here for you.

Panel 4

Close up of Maximum’s eyes as it is inspired with awe. In the reflection of one of his eyes, show Quietess on the ground and in the other eye, show Maximum’s mom.

(*Note: This dynamic is important as Quietess’s words reminded him of his mother and what she said on Page 6, Panel 8.)

Panel 5

Pan out to show Quietess, Waren, and Aziza by each other. Quietess is still in the upright position against the debris while Waren is knelt down beside her. Aziza is standing. A crowd of people can be seen in the background now staring at Maximum, their beloved hero as well.

Page 16

Panel 1

Show Maximum jump off from the pavement, leaping high in the sky. We see distress on his face as he realizes something.

Maximum

Oh no! Please, tell me she’s okay.

Panel 2

Waren slings Quietess’s arm around his neck, picking her up. Aziza is on the other side of Quietess helping her up as well.

Aziza

Huh? Where is he going?

Waren Marshal

I don’t know, but we gotta hurry after him. He’s not right in the head right now.

Panel 3

Close up on a hand with a wedding ring on it under rubble.

(*Note: The wedding ring should is the same one Maximum’s mom was wearing on the Part 1 comic of Page 8, Panel 8.)

Panel 4

Close up shot of Maximum as tears well up from his eyes.

Panel 5

Show Quietess, Aziza, and Waren rushing over to where he is with their van in the background.

Panel 6

Show Maximum on his knees next to the rubble talking while Quietess is standing behind him.

Maximum

My mom decided to come downtown to get groceries for me. She didn’t deserve this. You were right before. I am just a child.

(*Note: Reference to Part 1 comic of Page 17, Panel 4.)

Panel 7

Quietess kneels beside Maximum still in pain, looking at him with sincerity. Maximum has tears streaming down his face.

Quietess

No. I was wrong. I wish this pain on no one. This world’s madness has made me blind to what’s right. People like you are needed, so we’re able to see through the dark again. I know this is hard to ask of you now, but please do not let this change who you are.

Panel 8

Maximum is sobbing while Quietess holds him with a motherly-like embrace in her arms. Maximum’s tattered cape blows in the wind. Aziza and Waren are behind them, looking at both of them, compassionately.

Page 17

Panel 1

On the upper left hand corner state: “A few days later.” News anchor is addressing the public. The background shows the scene of what the cameraman recorded that day. It zooms in on Quietess talking to Maximum after breaking free from Nervo’s control. Panel should take up a third of the page.

News Anchor

This tragic day will be a day remembered for all who were victims of such devastation. Maximum, who was loved by all, was seemingly under the mind control of something called Nervo. We as of yet do not know what or who it is. Government officials and law enforcement struggle on the decision of detaining Maximum as a criminal. The public have expressed their mixed concerns. One question no one can seem to answer is, “Where do we go from here?”

Panel 2

Bird’s eye view of various heroes standing in a circle in Emeka’s computer base, discussing their fate. Protector, Burst, Madam Frost, Slade, Mantle, Binary, Aziza, and Genesis should be the heroes depicted.

Panel 3

Protector, Binary, Genesis, and Madam Frost are talking as the other heroes turn their attention toward them. Aziza can be seen grinning, hopefully.

Protector

Thank you for coming to this impromptu meeting. We have much to discuss.

BINARY

I think I can say we all wouldn’t be here right now if it wasn’t for the respect we have for you.

Genesis

I agree.

MADAM FROST

I’m glad we can all share this “heartfelt” moment, but can we get to the point?

Page 18

Panel 1

Protector smiles as he explains the situation. A map can be seen in the background behind him.

Protector

Certainly, Frost. During the Maximum incident, it looks like the small teams were able to take down the detectable facilities of Nervo’s terraform tech.

Genesis

Detectable? Are you insinuating there are more?

Panel 2

Protector’s expression is now stern. Pan out to still show the other heroes talking.

Protector

Unfortunately, yes. Slade was able to discover hidden ones, potentially more.

Slade

It’s true. I found about five more heavily fortified, but I heard rumors of possibly dozens in abandoned or least suspected locations underground.

Burst

What do we do? We don’t have the manpower to combat this.

Panel 3

Close up of Protector explaining his idea.

Protector

Nervo is clearly dangerous. We can no longer do this solo or in small teams. We need to display a united front! Getting the people behind us can open up doors, uniting us with the country. We can build trust and form allies with law enforcement and military personnel. But we need a face the people connect with to represent us, which is why this can’t work without Maximum.

Panel 4

Show doubt surface on the heroes’ faces except for Protector and Aziza as they look back at their comrades, concerned.

Mantle

Are you sure that’s the wisest play, Emeka?

Binary

Yeah, there are others who blamed him for what happened. You may be adding fuel to the fire.

Slade

He speaks truth. People can be ignorant. I should know.

Madam Frost

The kid has also been through a lot. I’m not even sure he’d be up for something like this.

Panel 5

Close up on Aziza as she tries to save Protector from the overwhelming cloud of doubt.

Aziza

Waren still has connections within the political system and was able to convince officials for Maximum to speak on his actions and on behalf of us as vigilantes. I know the odds are against us, but we need to have faith until the very end. It’s the only chance we have now.

Panel 6

Pan out as the heroes focus on Protector as he speaks.

Protector

Instead of his actions, shift the focus to our common enemy. We can rally the public to our side.

Burst

And if it should fail?

Panel 7

Close up on Mantle as he speaks and holds out his fist towards the middle.

Mantle

Then we lean on each other and hope for the best, together.

Panel 8

Protector looks at Mantle, smiling. He pridefully holds his fist in the middle. Aziza does the same.

Protector

Together then.

Panel 9

Show all of the heroes’ fists in a circle, standing together as one.

Page 19

Panel 1

Depict Maximum on a podium addressing the public in full hero attire. There’s a sign stating: “We love you, Max!” Another sign stating: “You suck!”

Maximum

I know there are people that dislike me. Honestly, I hate myself right now. I lost someone too. She raised me, believed in me, and let me know I was never alone. A being named Nervo manipulated my mind, making me lose her from falling debris I caused and made me attack the world of people whom I both love so much.

Panel 2

Pan out to show the people now stand in silence, ceasing their protests. Depict remorse and sympathy through their eyes. Some of the crowd can even have their hands over their mouths with misty eyes, preparing to cry.

Panel 3

Show Protector, Burst, Aziza, and Genesis standing behind Maximum on Stage. Depict it from an angle they are standing side by side to each other but lined up from the right to the left of the panel.

Maximum

These brave people stopped the enemy’s plan and risked their lives just to keep you safe.

Panel 4

Show Maximum proceeding to speak as decorated officers, politicians, government officials, along with the previous heroes mentioned standing behind him in the background. Tears are welling up in Maximum’s eyes.

Maximum

Law enforcement, government, nor us acting alone can stop this invader from taking our world. So please, even if you can’t trust me anymore to save you, at least trust them.

Panel 5

Everyone in the crowd is contemplating accepting them into society. People are looking down not knowing what to say or do in the background. Have the main focus be a boy holding up a toy replica of Maximum.

BOY

Take it to the max!

Panel 6

The people are now looking at each other with smiles raising their hands high and cheering.

Panel 7

Focus in on Maximum who now displays a new sense of hope in his eyes.

Maximum

Thank you! I promise we will be the guardians that this world deserves and stop Nervo or anyone like him from hurting us ever again!

Page 20

Panel 1

Focus in on Protector and Aziza as they look on with admiration at the positive response of the crowd.

Protector

I understand the others not being here. They like to keep a low profile, but where’s Quietess?

Aziza

Her and Waren’s situation is a bit complicated. They can’t be exonerated with us, but Waren is working on something.

Protector

Seems wrong for the one who saved us that day to not be here.

Aziza

Don’t worry. Something tells me she’d prefer it this way.

Panel 2

Quietess is standing with her back to the reader, but head turned over her shoulder. She has one hand pressed against the side of her head talking into the communicator. She is on top of a building and it is now night time. She is in cameo gear but without the goggles and mask, so the reader can see the content expression from her face. Her short hair is blowing in the wind.

Waren Marshal

Hey, just got word from Aziza. The kid was able to pull it off. The Guardians are official.

Quietess

Good. Now we have to focus on exonerating ourselves, so we’re able to help them.

Panel 3

It should be the exact depiction of the image from Part 1 of the comic on Page1, Panel 2. “Guardians: A Pact of a New Age” should be clearly seen.

Panel 4

Protector is on his couch in normal clothes in his house, sitting cross-legged with the newspaper on his lap. Genesis is walking up to him from behind.

Protector

I’m glad the reporter got this quote from Aziza. She does have a way with words.

Genesis

You’re one to talk. Your words could inspire a slug to move faster.

Protector

Heh. You have Mantle’s sense of humor. But seriously, this world is a strange one.

(*Note: Genesis is with Protector in these last two shots as his name represents the beginning. This also pays respect to the biblical reference which is important to Protector’s character as his faith is what drives him.)

Panel 5

Protector stares out of the window with sunlight pouring in. He has his arms behind him, still grasping the newspaper. Genesis is smiling behind him.

Genesis

How so?

Protector

A miracle did not come from brute force or fighting fire with fire. The day was saved by a mother’s love. I think we’re creating something special here – something divine.

Genesis

I told you your words were moving.

(*Note: Symbolic reference to the actual text of Genesis in the bible as God moved Earth and said “let there be light”.)

Page 21 (This page can be included or not. It is more of a cliffhanger/ epilogue of things to come.)

Panel 1

In the upper left hand corner state: “With the establishment of The Guardians, enemies come forth from the darkness.” Show six silhouettes in a dark room standing at a round table. Depict text bubbles of any of the silhouettes talking and responding to each other randomly.

Silhouette 1

Argh! If it wasn’t for that news station recording proof of Maximum’s mind control, we could’ve detained all of those “heroes” and used them.

Silhouette 2

It still works in our favor.

Silhouette 3

How so?

(*Note: The number six is sinister in nature as it represents evil. Their dark silhouette figures reinforces their malicious intent.)

Panel 2

In the upper left hand corner state: “The Shadow Government a.k.a. The Ominous Six”. Same depiction as panel 1, but their silhouettes are elongated to represent shadows, symbolizing their dark title.

Silhouette 4

The Guardians will be under supervision of the government. Let the people worship their heroes. We can take our beloved targets Quietess and Aziza at any time we wish.

Silhouette 5

Ah, yes. Our ability to pull the strings of this world never gets old.

Silhouette 6

I love that the public are still oblivious that the true rulers of this world rule in the shadows.

Panel 3

This panel should take up the rest of the page. Depict Nervo menacingly lurk in the shadows talking to Alex Gordan. Alex Gordan has three lit dots on his forehead in the shape of a triangle.

Nervo

You did a good job at diverting The Guardians’ from my true intentions with the few underground facilities you made detectable.

Alex Gordan

I simply have done what you have asked of me, my Lord Nervo.

Nervo

Yes, you have. Soon this world will be under my command just like Helios! They have no idea what they’re in for.
